On Sunday, January 18, Dr. Nathan Rabalais delivered a lecture titled “Cajun and Creole Foodways” at the Lafayette Museum. Attendees participated in a discussion focused on the origins and identities of Cajun and Creole cuisines, as well as the impact of international cultures on the culinary traditions enjoyed throughout Louisiana today.

The Lafayette Museum was a recipient of a grant from The Pinhook Foundation. Through this generous donation, the museum was able to purchase new software and fund IT support to build a new website. The funding allowed the museum to become an ecommerce merchant and partner with a gateway to allow for a variety of payment options online and a seamless interface with our bookkeeping software. The new software platform will provide a simple and secure way for our patrons to donate online to support all of our fundraising efforts.

The Lafayette Museum cordially invites you to a guest lecture with author and revered Louisiana historian, Robert T. Mann, Jr, about the singing governor, Jimmie Davis, and the song that lifted Davis to music and political stardom. This event is free to the public. The doors open at 1:30 pm. Refreshments will be served.
